As I have shared in summer, PCLS has been selected by Overseas Community Affairs Council in Taiwan in June 2021 to establish a Taiwan Mandarin Learning Center \u81fa\u7063\u83ef\u8a9e\u6587\u5b78\u7fd2\u4e2d\u5fc3 to assist the implementation of the Taiwan-US Education Initiative, emphasizing Taiwan\u2019s important role in providing Mandarin learning opportunities for students in the US and other countries.<\/p>\n

There was an opening ceremony this past Sunday at Watchung Hills Regional High School for the two centers in New<\/span> Jersey: PCLS and the Murray Hill School in Warren. See press release here<\/b> <\/a><\/p>\n

We are currently enrolling adults 18 and older to join our Mandarin class. Anyone who\u2019s interested in the adult class, please email Justine at chairperson@pcls.org<\/a><\/i><\/b>. Class will run during the regular PCLS class time. Watch this video <\/b><\/a>to see the advantages of learning Mandarin in our center and in Taiwan.<\/p>\n

Messages from the Academic Director\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Language Class Change<\/em><\/p>\n

If you submitted a request for changing language class, I\u2019ve reassigned a new<\/span> language class to your child(ren) based on your request. Please be on the lookout for the email from the new<\/span> class teacher.<\/p>\n

Textbook<\/em><\/p>\n

All of the students should have their textbook bundle by now. If not, please reach out to me at academic@pcls.org<\/a>. If your child(ren) changes class, please return the unused textbook bundle to me. After receiving it, I\u2019ll give you a textbook bundle for the new<\/span> class. We are sorry, but if the textbook or workbook has been used, we can\u2019t take it back. Please pay the $25 textbook fee for the new<\/span> textbook.<\/p>\n

Class Zoom link<\/em><\/p>\n

The Zoom link will be sent out before 9 pm this Saturday, 9\/18. If you don\u2019t see it by 9 am this Sunday, 9\/19, please contact me, but you may also want to check your spam folder.<\/p>\n

Messages from the Culture Director<\/strong><\/p>\n

Culture Class Changes<\/em><\/p>\n

If a student wishes to change the culture class, please email me at culture@pcls.org<\/a> with your child\u2019s full name and 2 choices of culture classes by end of day Monday 9\/20\/2021.\u00a0 All changes are given on the first come, first serve basis. Priority will be given based on the timestamp on the request email. There were many changes this week so please double check the registration system to make sure your requested change was reflected correctly.\u00a0 As of today, all classes are still available except for Arts & Crafts.<\/p>\n
