Students are welcome to come to school dressed up in costumes. There will be peanut free treats at Cafeteria. Best costume will take home a Halloween House to decorate that\u2019s over 3 lbs with icing and candy!\u00a0 Happy Halloween! \ud83c\udf83 (See PTA updates for more information)<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Donations for LNY Raffle<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">If you would like to donate any items for the Lunar New Year celebration raffle, please be prepared to bring them to the PCLS admin team on 12\/4\/2022.\u00a0 Tax receipts will be provided upon request.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Please consider the following criteria for your donation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Retail value of $25 or more<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Item should be NEW and UNOPENED<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Items should be appropriate for the occasion and audience<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>MESSAGES FROM ACADEMIC DIRECTOR\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Speech Contest<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Speech contest is the perfect opportunity to have your kid(s) practice public speaking using \u201cChinese\u201d. <strong>The speech contest will be held on 12\/11 and 12\/18.<\/strong> More details will come in the next couple of weeks, but I want to put this under your radar as early as possible, so you can start to prepare. Every participant will receive one coupon and the winners will receive an additional coupon!!<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Teacher parking<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Our teachers and admin staff always carry a lot of teaching materials with them. If they park far away from the building, they\u2019ll have to carry the heavy stuff and walk a long way to the classrooms. Thus, if possible, I would strongly encourage everyone to save the parking spots that are close to the building to our teachers (priority) and admin staff. Just a small way to express our gratitude to our teachers. Only if the 2 duties are fulfilled, will the deposit be refunded. Students are welcome to come to school dressed up in costumes on 10\/30\/22. At assigned times during language class, teachers and TAs\/Room parents will parade the students into the decorated cafeteria and grab treats (peanut free) from the tables. Parents are welcome to come to the cafeteria and applaud\/encourage the students. There are 2 ways to continue supporting our community through our partnership with RaiseRight and AmazonSmile. This is a great way for you to show support on what you already purchase or plan to purchase.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">RaiseRight formerly ShopWithScrip<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">As the holiday season is here, any physical or electronic gift card purchases will help PCLS, much like the Amazon Smile program.\u00a0 Any fundraising efforts will be at no cost to you and gift cards are purchased based on face value.\u00a0 After you open an account, the gift cards can be purchased on the ShopWithScrip website directly or on their app, RaiseRight (only one login account needed). Once purchased, any e-gift cards are accessible on the app and are reloadable. They can also be emailed as a gift which is convenient during these times. If you prefer to have the gift cards mailed, then there is a small fee of $1 for the first card and $0.50 for each additional. They even have expedited services for those last minute gifts! There is a nominal % transactional fee which apply if using a credit card. If using a bank account, only $0.15 is charged for the entire transaction, whether its 1 or multiple gifts cards!<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">However, these gift cards are not limited to only the holiday season. You can reload the funds onto a gift card that was previously purchased through ShopWithScrip and use them at restaurants, grocery stores or any other places you frequent.
