Welcome to PCLS!\u00a0 Hope everyone has a great start to the school year.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Sunday, September 10<\/strong>\u00a0is the first day of school. All language (2:30 – 4:15 PM) and culture classes (4:20 – 5:00 PM) will be in person at\u00a0Princeton Day School (PDS, Address: Address: 650 Great Rd, Princeton, NJ 08540<\/strong>).\u00a0\u00a0Refer to our\u00a0school calendar<\/a><\/span>\u00a0for a listing of school events and closing for SY23-24.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

If you are new to PDS, please come early to find your ways around. Enter the building through the\u00a0Main Entrance\u00a0(see attached map).\u00a0 Other doors are locked for security purposes.\u00a0 Maps & classroom listing will be posted near the main entrance.\u00a0 A copy is also attached in this email for your convenience.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

If your child is new or on the younger side, please stick around during the first 3 weeks to make sure he\/she knows how to get to the language\/culture classes.<\/p>\n

Cindy (Academic Director), Sophia (Culture Director) and myself will be at the Admin Table area.\u00a0 Please stop by and say hi!\u00a0 If you have any questions, we are here to help.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

IMPORTANT NOTICE re. Parking<\/span><\/p>\n

Parents, please don\u2019t park in the closest 2 rows to the building (see the yellow lines on the attached map) and save these parking spots\u00a0for teachers.\u00a0 Our teachers have a lot of class material to carry every week.\u00a0 Please use \u201cparents parking\u201d instead. Thank you in advance for your understanding & cooperation.<\/p>\n

PDS Facility Protocols<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. \n

    No eating inside the building except for younger kids during recess.<\/strong> Younger kids are allowed to eat in the cafeteria during recess time.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Absolutely no eating inside the classrooms<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    Self-screening for COVID and cold symptoms. If you are not well, stay home.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    PCLS Student Guidelines<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    PCLS strive to build a supportive, nurturing and safe learning environment. It is the responsibility of the parents to review the\u00a0Student Code of Conduct<\/a>\u00a0with your child(ren) and make sure they understand the behavioral expectations. \u00a0\u00a0NO LANGUAGE OR ACTS OF VIOLENCE<\/span>\u00a0will be tolerated.<\/p>\n

    Registration & Check Deposit<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    Our registration numbers are similar to last year.\u00a0 A BIG THANK YOU to ALL registered families. We will finish depositing your checks in September.<\/p>\n

    If you have registered your child(ren) but did not pay the tuition, please bring a check on the first day of the school and give it to registration staff at the admin tables. You do not need to mail the check.<\/p>\n

    If you have friends interested in joining our school, please ask them to check out our\u00a0website<\/a>\u00a0and follow the steps on the registration page. They are welcome to send us inquiries via\u00a0hello@pcls.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    Message from Academic Director<\/strong><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Textbooks<\/strong>\u00a0will be distributed to registered and paid students\u00a0on the first day of school in class. If you haven\u2019t paid the tuition, please bring in your check (NO cash please as we can\u2019t track it) this Sunday. I\u2019ll give you the textbooks once we receive the tuition.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Language Class Changes<\/span><\/p>\n

    On the first day (9\/10), please attend the language class listed in your confirmation email. Each student has ONE chance to switch language class between the 2nd and 3rd week. After the 3rd week (9\/25), NO change to the language class is allowed. If you have any questions regarding the class placement, please reach out to me (I\u2019ll be at the \u201cadministration table\u201d near the main entrance this Sunday, or you can email me at\u00a0academic@pcls.org<\/a>).<\/p>\n

    Trial Class<\/span><\/p>\n

    If any of your friends would like to try out a language class, please have your friend contact me (academic@pcls.org<\/a>) first. Please do not bring your friend directly to the class.<\/p>\n

Please take a moment to complete the waiver when you receive it.<\/p>\n

    Adult Activities<\/span><\/p>\n

    The following activities are available for adults.\u00a0 Please note that a facility fee applies to participation in all adult activities ($100 for parents \/ $150 for non-parents), but you only need to pay once for the year. (i.e. you can participate in basketball at 2:30 – 4:00 and Lion Dance at 4:20 and pay the facility fee only once!)<\/p>\n

    To ensure that all events and activities run smoothly throughout the year, please sign up for at least 2 parent duties. Only if the 2 duties are fulfilled, will the deposit be refunded. If you are able to spare more time to our community, we would be very thankful. There are currently over 30 parent duty slots available for sign up still.<\/p>\n

    Please note, if any events\/parent duty signups are canceled\/moved, it is\u00a0the family\u2019s responsibility\u00a0to sign up for another parent duty or the rescheduled time to fulfill the requirement in order to receive the deposit. It is also the\u00a0parents’ responsibility\u00a0to sign in at the event\/duty to log the completion of your duty, otherwise, the deposit may not be refunded.<\/p>\n
