Message from Principal<\/strong><\/p>\n

Greetings again to all PCLS families, old and new!\u00a0 This weekly newsletter is sent out every week on Friday evening to provide information on upcoming events, important news, etc. Please take a moment to read it every week.<\/p>\n

Important Reminders<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. \n

    Parking<\/strong> – please don\u2019t park in the closest 2 rows to the building (see the yellow lines on the attached map) and use \u201cParents Parking\u201d instead.\u00a0 These spots are reserved for our teachers.\u00a0 We will start enforcing reserved parking this week. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    PCLS Student Guidelines<\/strong> – PCLS strive to build a supportive, nurturing and safe learning environment. It is the responsibility of the parents to review the Student Code of Conduct<\/a> with your child(ren) and make sure they understand the behavioral expectations. \u00a0 NO LANGUAGE OR ACTS OF VIOLENCE will be tolerated.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    ABSOLUTELY NO EATING<\/strong> in classrooms or in the building except for younger kids during recess. Younger kids are allowed to eat at the cafeteria during recess time.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Enter the building through only the Main Entrance (see attached map). DO NOT prop any other doors open.\u00a0 Students who go out to play in the playground during recess should return through the Main Entrance.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Registration & Check Deposit<\/span><\/p>\n

    Our registration numbers are similar to last year.\u00a0 A BIG THANK YOU to ALL registered families. We will finish depositing your checks in September.<\/p>\n

    If you have registered your child(ren) but did not pay the tuition, please bring a check and give it to registration staff at the admin tables. You do not need to mail the check.<\/p>\n

    If you have friends interested in joining our school, please ask them to check out our website<\/a> and follow the steps on the registration page. They are welcome to send us inquiries via hello@pcls.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    Message from Academic Director<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Language Class Changes<\/span><\/p>\n

    If your child(ren) has tried a different language class from the one you registered, and has made a decision which class to stay in, please email me at academic@pcls.org<\/a> by 9\/25. After 9\/25, you won\u2019t be able to make changes.<\/p>\n

    If your child(ren) is thinking about trying a different language class, please contact me (academic@pcls.org<\/a>). We will only offer trial classes until 9\/25.<\/p>\n

    Message from Culture Director<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Culture Class Changes\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Culture class change request is now open. Each student has ONE chance to request culture class change.\u00a0 Please complete the Culture Class Change Request Google form<\/a> by 9\/22\/2023<\/span>\u00a0 Requests will be processed between 9\/18 – 9\/22 in the order received. As class availability is subject to change, please provide at least 2 different choices in the form.\u00a0 You will receive an email confirmation between 9\/22 to 9\/24.<\/p>\n

    Class Waivers<\/span><\/p>\n

    Students in the following classes are required to sign a waiver<\/a>:\u00a0 Taekwondo \/ YoYo \/ Dance \/ Basketball<\/p>\n

    An email was sent to the students with a link to a Google form for electronic sign-off. Please take a moment to complete the waiver when you receive it.<\/p>\n

    Adult Activities<\/span><\/p>\n

    The following activities are available for adults.\u00a0 Please note that a facility fee applies to participation in all adult activities ($100 for parents \/ $150 for non-parents), but you only need to pay once for the year. (i.e. you can participate in basketball at 2:30 – 4:00 and Lion Dance at 4:20 and pay the facility fee only once!)<\/p>\n

    PTA Update<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Welcome back PCLS family!<\/p>\n

    To ensure that all events and activities run smoothly throughout the year, please sign up for at least 2 parent duties. Only if the 2 duties are fulfilled, will the deposit be refunded. If you are able to spare more time to our community, we would be very thankful. There are currently over 30 parent duty slots available for sign up still.<\/p>\n

    Please note, if any events\/parent duty signups are canceled\/moved, it is the family\u2019s responsibility to sign up for another parent duty or the rescheduled time to fulfill the requirement in order to receive the deposit. It is also the parents’ responsibility to sign in at the event\/duty to log the completion of your duty, otherwise, the deposit may not be refunded.<\/p>\n
