Lion Dance Open House (for adults)<\/span><\/p>\n

Did you know that PCLS offers a Lion Dance class for parents?\u00a0 The lion dance is one of the most important traditions at Chinese New Year. It is performed to bring prosperity and good luck. In addition, it\u2019s also a great exercise that helps to build strength in the upper body and legs.\u00a0 The Lion Dance dads will showcase this unique art form between 2:20-2:30 at the Main Entrance. If you are interested, you can join a trial class this Sunday at\u00a04:20PM in the Upper Gym<\/strong>.\u00a0 Please wear appropriate exercise clothing \/ shoes and complete\u00a0a waiver<\/a>\u00a0before class.<\/p>\n

T10 Guest Speaker – Grace Zhang for \u201cUnusual Careers for Chinese Americans\u201d *<\/span><\/p>\n

The guest speaker for the T10 class\u2019s \u201cUnusual Careers for Chinese Americans\u201d series will be Grace Zhang, candidate for State Assembly in District 16.\u00a0 Grace will be joined by her son, Kenny, who are both active community members.\u00a0 They will speak about their career path, passion for education and community services at 3:15PM in the cafeteria.\u00a0 Parents are welcome to join.\u00a0 Click on\u00a0this link<\/a>\u00a0to see a bio on Grace and Kenny.<\/p>\n

    The Association of New Jersey Chinese Schools (ANJCS) will host the 2023-2024 calligraphy contest on\u00a0Nov 5th, 2023 at 1:30 pm at Bergen Chinese School. If you\u2019re interested, please contact me (academic@pcls.org<\/a>) before\u00a0Oct 7th, 2023\u00a0as I need to submit our registration before Oct 15, 2023.<\/p>\n

    Drawing Contest Registration<\/span> – NOW OPEN!<\/p>\n

    Get your crayons and markers ready for our first contest this year!\u00a0 The drawing contest will take place IN PERSON on\u00a010\/22\/2023\u00a0and\u00a010\/29\/2023\u00a0between\u00a01:30 – 2:25 PM\u00a0<\/strong>at the PDS cafeteria. Students will have 2 Sundays to complete their drawing. The drawings need to be handed in at the end of the event on 10\/22 and we will distribute again on 10\/29 for the students to finish.<\/p>\n

    All participants will earn ONE coupon.\u00a0 Top 3 place winners will earn an extra coupon, a trophy, and have their artwork featured in the PCLS directory!<\/p>\n
