{"id":1777,"date":"2024-04-20T13:41:18","date_gmt":"2024-04-20T13:41:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pcls.org\/?p=1777"},"modified":"2024-04-20T13:41:18","modified_gmt":"2024-04-20T13:41:18","slug":"weekly-newsletter-april-20-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/pcls.org\/?p=1777","title":{"rendered":"Weekly Newsletter April 20, 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Message from Principal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Incorporating TOCFL into Curriculum &#8211; PLEASE RESPOND TO SURVEY<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">PCLS is considering incorporating Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (for students over 13 yo) and Children&#8217;s Chinese Competency Certification (for students 7-12) into the curriculum and make it a mandatory testing that students take once every 2-3 years.\u00a0 This would be a great opportunity for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Students \/ parents:\u00a0 to understand how the students are doing in learning Chinese. Parents can then plan their children&#8217;s future Chinese lessons or adjust the current learning method and pace.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Teachers: to understand how their students are learning the language.
