Dear Parents\/Guardians\/Teachers:

This Sunday, 9\/30, is Picture Day.\u00a0 Each class will take a class picture for our school directory, which will be given to all families later this year.

As a reminder, language class is 2:30-4:15, with a 5 minute break in between.\u00a0 Culture class is 4:20-5:00. Particularly for new and younger students, it is helpful if parents can walk their children from language class to culture class at 4:15.\u00a0 Also, if your child needs to leave school during the class, please inform the teacher or TA.

The classroom reassignment is finalized and is the same as last week. \u00a0\u00a0We will post class info on each classroom door and in the cafeteria if you need to double check. \u00a0\u00a0

Messages from the Academic Director, Molly Yang:<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are seeking Chinese language instructors who can help the next generation learn Chinese.\u00a0 The teacher training and materials will be provided. As our school is growing, we also need more teachers to ensure the good quality of teaching.\u00a0 If you are interested in teaching or being a substitute teacher, please email academic@pcls.org<\/a>.\u00a0 We really appreciate your consideration.<\/p>\n

Messages from the Culture Director, Ya-ping Su:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I hope all children are settled and happy with their culture class selection by now. This year, we have 17 culture class offerings that range from mental activities such as Abacus and Chinese Chess to more hands on physical activities like Yo-Yo, basketball, Yoga and dance.\u00a0 As we look and plan ahead for the future, Parents, we need your help!<\/p>\n

PCLS plans to establish a lion dance team and is looking for parents who are willing to learn and\/or willing to coach the team. Of course, if you already have experience, that would be an added bonus. We are also looking for parents who are interested in offering a culture class or have ideas on culture class offerings. Is anyone interested?\u00a0 If so, please email the culture director (culture@pcls.org<\/a>).

Thank you for all your cooperation on the following PDS parking regulations and the food\/drink policies.\u00a0 Please remember: food may be consumed ONLY in the Campus Center (cafeteria) so that spills are confined to the tile floor in the Cafeteria.\u00a0 PDS has two renovated areas and they are quite strict about this policy. NO drinking or eating in the CLASSROOMS or HALLWAYS.

Lost and found<\/strong><\/p>\n

If your child leaves his\/her stuff in a classroom, please check the classroom or ask the teachers FIRST.\u00a0 If the teachers cannot take the lost item home, he or she will leave the lost item on the Academic\/Culture Directors’ table.\u00a0 You might want to stop by the cafeteria before leaving school. Please let the principal know if you have ALREADY tried the above and need further help.\u00a0 Then we can visit PDS\u2019s lost and found.<\/p>\n
