Chinese Culture Expo (\u6587\u5316\u5c55\u6f14) will be held at PDS cafeteria this Sunday 2:30 pm ~ 5:00 pm. \u00a0The first class group (PreK, K and T5), please report to cafeteria before 2:30 pm<\/span><\/b>. Other classes will go to classroom normally.\u00a0 Please see below for details.<\/p>\n


Messages from the Culture Director, Ya-ping Su:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Drawing Contest<\/span> will take place on 10\/21 and 10\/28 in the cafeteria (1:00pm – 2:25 pm). The theme this year is “Year of the Pig”.\u00a0 Please arrive at 1pm to check-in. Students should bring their own drawing tools, but sketch paper will be provided. \u00a0Please click this link to register your child(ren):

NEW Event in PCLS: Chinese Culture EXPO<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n

Chinese Culture Expo will be held at PDS cafeteria 2:30 pm ~ 5:00 pm.\u00a0 Calligraphy (\u66f8\u6cd5), dough figurines (\u634f\u9eb5\u4eba), dragon candies (\u9f8d\u9b1a\u7cd6), and weaving with plastic lacing (\u5275\u610f\u6253\u5305\u5e36\u7de8\u7e54) will be demonstrated by experts from Taiwan. (see attached file)<\/p>\n


\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

PCLS students will visit this event <\/u>in group<\/u>. Schedule follows:<\/strong>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a03:30 pm ~ 3:50 pm: T3, CSL3, T7<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a03:50 pm ~ 4:10 pm: T4, CSL4, CSL7, T8, CSL8, T9<\/p>\n

PCLS lion dance team (T8, T9, and CSL8 students) will have a brief training with the lion dance teacher from Taiwan 4:10 – 4:40. Please move to gymteria (small gym \/ Badminton court) after culture demo is complete.<\/p>\n


There will be some products available for purchasing between 2:30 pm ~ 4:30 pm. Limited amount of dough figurines (\u634f\u9eb5\u4eba), lion figurines (\u821e\u7345\u73a9\u5076), dragon candies (\u9f8d\u9b1a\u7cd6), and weaving with plastic lacing (\u5275\u610f\u6253\u5305\u5e36\u7de8\u7e54) will be available.<\/p>\n

Due to large amount of students participating this event, parents are NOT recommended to join the demonstration. 2018 ANJCS Poem Recitation Contest will be hosted by Ming Hui Chinese School on 12\/1\/2018. If your child(ren) is(are) interested in attending the contest, please contact the Academic director in person or email to academic@pcls.org<\/a>.\u00a0 PCLS will pay the application fee for students participating in this contest. We are seeking Chinese language instructors who can help the next generation learn Chinese.\u00a0 The teacher training and materials will be provided.
