Dear Parents\/Guardians\/Teachers\/TAs:<\/span><\/p>\n

I hope you and your families are all in good health and spirit.<\/p>\n

As I announced last week,\u00a0PCLS will keep remote learning until the end of this school year,\u00a05\/31.<\/b>\u00a0 The modified calendar is as below:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

* 4\/26 – Language\u00a0online\u00a0week 5 & Culture online week 2 (except Basketball, Homework club and Mahjong)
\n* 5\/3 –\u00a0Language online week 6 & Culture online week 3, Fall 2020 Registration Begins
\n* 5\/10 –\u00a0 Language online week 7 & Culture\u00a0 online week 4
\n* 5\/17 –\u00a0 Fun Day cancelled.\u00a0 Language online (Optional – the teacher will notify the class) & Culture online week 5
\n* 5\/24 – No School – memorial Day
\n* 5\/30 (Saturday) – Online year-End Zoom meeting with parents \u5bb6\u9577\u5927\u6703 (time will be announced)<\/div>\n
* 5\/31 –\u00a0 Last day of 2019-2020 school year for Language (week 8 or 9) and Culture class (week 6).\u00a0 Commencement will be held in an alternative way later.<\/div>\n

\u00a0What’s your plan for this Summer?\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/b><\/div>\n

We’re thinking about hosting an\u00a0ONLINE Summer Camp<\/b><\/span>\u00a0for Language, culture, or even some other types\u00a0of classes.\u00a0 The camp will be from\u00a06\/22 to 8\/24 for a duration of 10 weeks<\/b>.\u00a0 It will be designed to help kids continue language and culture learning in a fun and relaxed way.\u00a0 As we might still stay at home for a while, this summer camp can help everyone feel more connected with each other even while we’re apart.<\/div>\n
Our admins had some great discussion and would love to provide summer class options for our PCLS families.\u00a0 However, as we are volunteers helping\u00a0the school, we need to make sure that this summer camp idea is what you\u00a0need before our further planning.\u00a0\u00a0Please\u00a0click this\u00a0Google Form<\/a>\u00a0<\/b>to complete the short survey by\u00a0Next Sunday, 5\/3.\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n

If you or your high school child(ren) can provide some creative classes, feel free to enter in the last field\u00a0“<\/span><\/span>additional comments<\/span>” in the survey.\u00a0 It will be a great\u00a0summer project for your family or your teenagers (As TAs, they can earn volunteer hours.\u00a0 As teachers, they can choose to get paid or earn their\u00a0volunteer hours).\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0Thank you for your help.<\/div>\n

A BIG thank you to our culture teachers!<\/i><\/b>
\nWe have received many positive feedbacks from parents thanking teachers for hosting classes at this difficult time. Kids seemed to be happy to see each other “virtually” and were engaged during the class.\u00a0 We will work\u00a0closely with\u00a0our\u00a0culture teachers and evaluate the possibility of culture summer\u00a0camp\u00a0this\u00a0year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Please continue providing the feedback to your class teachers or\u00a0culture director<\/a>\u00a0(Ya-ping).\u00a0 We appreciate your patience, inputs, and support to make our online learning better and better.<\/p>\n

Parent Duty Refund checks (School year 2019-2020)<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Please note that SignUp genius 2019-2020 is closed.\u00a0 For the parents who signed up and fulfilled their duty before school close (3\/8), you will receive an email from PTA next week.\u00a0 For the other parents who signed up for the other duties, you will receive another email from PTA soon.\u00a0 We’re processing your refund checks and will mail to you in May.\u00a0 Thank you for your patience and understanding.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
