Registration 註冊 for PCLS 2023/24 is CLOSED.

PCLS is a nonprofit organization operated by parent volunteers.  As such, parent participation and involvement is essential to the success of school operation and events.  

Important Note: To qualify for a $50 discount, you need to register and make full payment by 6/9/2024  in person at PDS (650 Great Rd, Princeton, NJ 08540) during these three Sundays (5/12, 6/2, 6/9 between 2:45-4:30 pm) OR by mail.  Mail all required paperwork and a check and the envelope needs to be postmarked by 6/9/2024. PCLS will start cashing the checks in July-August.

What you need to do:

Step 1: Sign up for parent duty and sign up for either (1) class parent (2) one Type A + One Type B duty or (3) two Type A duties

Step 2: Register your student(s) in PCLS Registration System. Print (mail registration) or take a screenshot (in person registration) of  the confirmation page. (see Example) 

Step 3: Register in person on 5/12, 6/2, 6/9 between 2:45-4:30 or mail the following to Princeton Chinese Language School P.O. Box 185, Princeton Junction, NJ 08550:

  • A check payable to PCLS with your family ID
  • A copy of Confirmation page from step #2
  • A copy of your 2024-2025 Parent Duty Assignment from step #1

Additional details for each step below:

(1) Step 1: Sign up for parent duty 

  • Please read the Parent Duty Guideline.
  • Please make sure you enter the name you would like us to use on the parent duty refund check.  
  • In order to be eligible for the refund, you need to sign up for and complete at least one of the following::
    • class parent
    • One Type A duty + One Type B duty
    • Two Type A duties
  • It’s the responsibility of the parent(s) to ensure that:
    • Both parents are aware of the date & duty signed up and the name used for the signed up.
    • Sign in and out when you perform your duty. We suggest that you take a photo of your sign in / sign out sheet as evidence.
  • In the event that you can’t make it to the parent duty you sign up for, you have a choice of:
    • Finding another parent to cover for you – DO NOT CHANGE THE SIGN UP IN SIGN UP GENIUS. The duty will count towards the person who originally signed up.  It is up to the two families to work out how the other parent’s duty is covered, or 
    • Notify PTA lead (pta@pcls.org) 7 days before the date of your duty.  You may sign up for another duty of an equivalent weight (i.e. if you miss a Type A duty, you need to sign up for another Type A duty) through the PTA lead if there’s any available.  However, there is NO guarantee.  If there’s no more duty available for sign up, you will lose your parent duty deposit.
  • If you don’t don’t notify PTA within the above timeframe and do not show up, you will lose your parent duty deposit. 
  • For returning families, we encourage you to sign up for the same parent duties as in the previous years, particularly for the more critical roles (i.e. Chinese New Year helpers, contest helpers/judges, coupon day volunteers, etc.). 

(2) Step 2:  Register your students and print the confirmation page (mail registration) or take a screenshot (in person registration). (see Example)

    2. Tuition fees breakdown
      • $600 ($570 tuition + $30 teacher/TA gift fee) for the EARLY registration which is PAID BY June 9th 2024. 
      • $650 ($620 tuition + $30 teacher/TA gift fee) for the regular registration which is PAID after June 9th 2024.
      • A REFUNDABLE parent duty fee of $200 (DEPOSIT) will be imposed as the school needs more families to help run PCLS events. 
    3.   Culture class & fees: Similar to the previous years, families who complete and pay their registration first will have their first choice of culture classes. In addition, the following culture classes have additional fees:
      • Chinese Brush Painting – $25 per year (collected by teacher)
      • Chinese Knotting – $25 per year (collected by teacher)
      • Arts & Crafts – $25 per year (collected by teacher)
      • Taekwondo – $100 per year (collected in registration system)

Students are required to pay these class fees by the 3rd week of the class, 9/22/2024 to guarantee their spot in the class.

(3) Step 3:  Bring the following three items to in-person registration at PDS on 5/12, 6/2, 6/9,  OR Mail them to Princeton Chinese Language School P.O. Box 185, Princeton Junction, NJ 08550.  

After you complete the process using the link above, please:

      • WRITE a check and make it payable to PCLS. Your Family ID number and student names should also be included on the face of the check
      • PRINT or take a screenshot the last confirmation page
      • After you sign up parent duty on the SignUp Genius, take a screen shot OR write down your signups to show to registration staff

Please note that if you are registering by mail, we cannot process payments without the printed documents, Family ID number and student names on the check.

If you are registering in person, you must have a hardcopy or screenshot of parent duty sign up and registration confirmation page, and a check with Family ID and student name(s).
