Message from Principal
Greetings again to all PCLS families, old and new! This weekly newsletter is sent out every week on Friday evening to provide information on upcoming events, important news, etc. Please take a moment to read it every week.
Important Reminders

Parking – please don’t park in the closest 2 rows to the building (see the yellow lines on the attached map) and use “Parents Parking” instead. These spots are reserved for our teachers. We will start enforcing reserved parking this week. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

PCLS Student Guidelines – PCLS strive to build a supportive, nurturing and safe learning environment. It is the responsibility of the parents to review the Student Code of Conduct with your child(ren) and make sure they understand the behavioral expectations. NO LANGUAGE OR ACTS OF VIOLENCE will be tolerated.

ABSOLUTELY NO EATING in classrooms or in the building except for younger kids during recess. Younger kids are allowed to eat at the cafeteria during recess time.

Enter the building through only the Main Entrance (see attached map). DO NOT prop any other doors open. Students who go out to play in the playground during recess should return through the Main Entrance.

Registration & Check Deposit
Our registration numbers are similar to last year. A BIG THANK YOU to ALL registered families. We will finish depositing your checks in September.
If you have registered your child(ren) but did not pay the tuition, please bring a check and give it to registration staff at the admin tables. You do not need to mail the check.
If you have friends interested in joining our school, please ask them to check out our website and follow the steps on the registration page. They are welcome to send us inquiries via hello@pcls.org.
Message from Academic Director
Language Class Changes
If your child(ren) has tried a different language class from the one you registered, and has made a decision which class to stay in, please email me at academic@pcls.org by 9/25. After 9/25, you won’t be able to make changes.
If your child(ren) is thinking about trying a different language class, please contact me (academic@pcls.org). We will only offer trial classes until 9/25.
Message from Culture Director
Culture Class Changes
Culture class change request is now open. Each student has ONE chance to request culture class change. Please complete the Culture Class Change Request Google form by 9/22/2023 Requests will be processed between 9/18 – 9/22 in the order received. As class availability is subject to change, please provide at least 2 different choices in the form. You will receive an email confirmation between 9/22 to 9/24.
Class Waivers
Students in the following classes are required to sign a waiver: Taekwondo / YoYo / Dance / Basketball
An email was sent to the students with a link to a Google form for electronic sign-off. Please take a moment to complete the waiver when you receive it.
Adult Activities
The following activities are available for adults. Please note that a facility fee applies to participation in all adult activities ($100 for parents / $150 for non-parents), but you only need to pay once for the year. (i.e. you can participate in basketball at 2:30 – 4:00 and Lion Dance at 4:20 and pay the facility fee only once!)
Please complete the waiver form before you begin participating in the activities.

* In addition to the facility fee, participants also need to pay an activity fee. Please complete registration and payment before 9/8/2023 to secure your spot. We will open registration to non – PCLS parents afterwards.
PTA Update
Welcome back PCLS family!
To ensure that all events and activities run smoothly throughout the year, please sign up for at least 2 parent duties. Only if the 2 duties are fulfilled, will the deposit be refunded. If you are able to spare more time to our community, we would be very thankful. There are currently over 30 parent duty slots available for sign up still.
Please note, if any events/parent duty signups are canceled/moved, it is the family’s responsibility to sign up for another parent duty or the rescheduled time to fulfill the requirement in order to receive the deposit. It is also the parents’ responsibility to sign in at the event/duty to log the completion of your duty, otherwise, the deposit may not be refunded.
Any questions about your parent duties you can’t find on Sign Up Genius , please reach out to Suet Horhota, PCLS PTA Lead, while at school or at PTA@pcls.org.
