Message from Principal
The Lunar New Year celebration is finally here! Please find important information below that will help you navigate the various aspects of the celebration and ensure that the event will go smoothly.
Parking

Families are encouraged to arrive in one car, or carpool as much as possible.

If the regular parking is full, there are 2 additional parking lots – see attached map.

VIP parking – 4 spots in front of the main entrance are reserved for VIP guests and marked with orange cones. Please do not park in these spots.

Raffle Tickets

If you bought the raffle tickets at the pre-sale, please remember to bring them with you on 2/11/24. We will NOT be able to reissue raffle tickets.

Raffle tickets are available for sale between 1:00 – 2:20. Costs – $10 for 10 tickets. $20 for 22 tickets

Each raffle ticket has 2 parts. Please tear at the perforation. We suggest you put your name on the back of the top part and drop that art into the bag for drawing. Keep the bottom part of the ticket to claim your prize.

Please make sure you drop all your tickets into the bags before 2:20 PM as the bags will be taken into the gym for raffle drawing.
Food & Drinks

If time permits, families are encouraged to eat before arriving at the school for rehearsal / celebration.

Food consumption is allowed ONLY in the cafeteria. Please clean up afterwards. NO eating allowed in other parts of school.
Entry / Seating in Upper Gym

Upper gym door will be closed until 2:20 PM. Please avoid congregating in front of the upper gym entrance. Students should enter with their class, not individually with their parents.

As seating is limited in the upper gym, parents and students are encouraged to leave their jackets and other belongings in the kids’ classrooms. Please bring valuables with you to the upper gym. PCLS is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

The folding chairs on the floor are reserved for students. Parents – please sit on the bleacher

The first row of the bleacher is reserved for parents with small children (non students) and also grandparents.

華語文能力測驗 Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL)
PCLS will host a TOCFL session on April 4, 2024. This is a great way to learn about your child(ren)’s Chinese proficiency and to level set and gauge your progress. Please stay tuned for announcements on an info session for parents to understand the benefits and importance of TOCFL!
PCLS 寫字比賽 Handwriting Contest
Participants: All students, except for preK and T10
Contest date and time: Feb 25, 2024 2:30-3 pm
Winners will get one extra coupon and certificates.

PCLS 歌唱比賽 Singing Contest [Cash prize!!]
PCLS will hold our very first Singing contest on 3/1/2024 between 1:30pm – 2:25pm. Please encourage your child(ren) to participate and register by 2/24/2024 using this Google Form.

Welcome back PCLS family!
To ensure that all events and activities run smoothly throughout the year, please sign up for at least 2 parent duties. Only if the 2 duties are fulfilled, will the deposit be refunded. If you are able to spare more time to our community, we would be very thankful. There are still a few open slots left to sign up!
Any questions about your parent duties you can’t find on Sign Up Genius , please reach out to Suet Horhota, PCLS PTA Lead, while at school or at PTA@pcls.org.
