Introduction of New PCLS Administration Team
As some of you know, I am wrapping up my 2-year term as the principal of PCLS. It has been a tremendous pleasure and honor to serve in this role. I am grateful for the support and collaboration with our dedicated administration team, teachers and also PCLS families. Starting next week, I will take on the role of Chairperson of the PCLS Board of Trustees from Ya-Ping Su.
I am excited to introduce:

Cindy Chen, who served the Academic Director for the past 3 years, will be the new Principal

Sophia Liu, who served as the Culture Director for the past 2 years, will be the new Academic Director

Whitney Hung, who served one of our adult sports coordinators, will be the new Culture Director
I would also like to welcome 2 new PTA team members: Jan-Huey Chen (PTA Lead) and Ann Martinsen (PTA – Contest). Please kindly extend your support to the new administration team as they step into their new roles!

PCLS Coupon / Reward Program

Chinese Children’s Book Fair 中文童書義賣
This Sunday 2:45 – 4:30 pm at the admin table hallway! If you have a voucher for the books you donated, please don’t forget to bring it. You can also purchase the books with cash.
Drawing Contest Registration – Last day 10/18/2024!
Get your crayons and markers ready for our first contest this year! The drawing contest will take place IN PERSON on 10/20/2024 and 10/27/2024 between 1:30 – 2:25 PM at the PDS cafeteria. Students will have 2 Sundays to complete their drawing. The drawings need to be handed in at the end of the event on 10/20 and we will distribute again on 10/27 for the students to finish.
All participants will earn ONE coupon. Top 3 place winners will earn an extra coupon, a trophy, and have their artwork featured in the PCLS directory!
To register, please read the guidelines thoroughly and complete the registration form here. Pre-registration is required to participate. We will NOT be able to accept registration on the spot. The registration form will be closed on 10/18/2024.
Class Waivers
Students in the following classes are required to sign a waiver: Taekwondo / YoYo / Dance / Basketball
An email was sent to the students with a link to a Google form for electronic sign-off. Please take a moment to complete the waiver when you receive it.

PTA Update
Collection of gently used Halloween / Lunar New Year Outfits 萬聖節/農曆新年傳統服飾交換義賣
Children’s Halloween Costume / Lunar New Year (“LNY”) Outfit Exchange Fair will be this Sunday (10/13) between 2:45 – 4:30 pm in the hallway after coming from the main entrance at PDS. You may purchase with $5 (please prepare exact change!) or use a voucher to exchange for a set of costumes or outfits. Please click this link to find more details.
Parent Duty Reminder
Please arrive at your sign-up duty event on time, especially for the events starting before 2:30pm. If you fail to show up on time, the duty will not be counted as fulfilled, and the parent duty deposit will not be refunded. Detailed parent duty instructions and information can be found in the PCLS Parent Duty Guidelines. If you need to adjust your sign-up duty, please contact the PTA Lead (pta@pcls.org).
