Message from Principal
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to PCLS! We look forward to seeing everyone on our first day of school, Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Princeton Day School (650 Great Rd, Princeton, NJ 08540).
Class Schedule:
- Taiwanese class: 1:45 – 2:30 PM (if registered)
- Language class: 2:30 – 4:15 PM
- Culture class: 4:20 – 5:00 PM
For the full school calendar, please click PCLS SY26-27 Calendar. You should have also received a confirmation email with your child’s language and culture class assignments.
Getting Around Campus:
- Please use the Main Entrance only (see attached pictures). All other doors remain locked for security.
- Classroom maps will be posted, and PCLS volunteers wearing shirts, vests, or badges will be available to help.
- For younger or new students, we recommend that parents remain on campus during the first few weeks.
New! Personal Device Policy:
In alignment with New Jersey’s new bell-to-bell personal device policy, PCLS students may not use personal internet-enabled devices during school hours, including class time and recess.
- We strongly encourage students to leave cell phones and other personal devices at home.
- If brought to school, devices must be turned off and kept away throughout the school day.
- Teachers may provide a designated storage area for devices during class.
- Parents who need to reach their child during school hours should contact the PCLS Admin Table.
Parking:
Please leave the two rows closest to the building for teachers (they carry materials each week). Parents should use designated parking areas.
Facility Rules:
- No eating in classrooms. Students may eat in the cafeteria during recess.
- Do not open or use PDS lockers.
- The lower level is only for students and adults attending scheduled activities, e.g. dance, Zumba.
- Please stay home if you are feeling unwell.
Student Conduct:
PCLS is a safe, supportive learning community. Please review the Code of Conduct with your child(ren). Violence, inappropriate language, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
Payment:
- If tuition is still outstanding, please pay via Zelle before the first day or bring a check to the Admin Table on the first day.
- Students with outstanding tuition will not receive textbooks until payment is completed.
- Tuition checks will be deposited within one week of receipt. Please ensure sufficient funds are available.
- Parent duty refund checks must be deposited by 10/31/2026.

Textbooks:
Textbooks will be distributed in class on the first day to students whose registration and tuition payment are complete.
Language Class Changes:
- On 9/13, students should attend the language class listed in their confirmation email.
- Each student has one opportunity to switch language classes through 9/27 (week 3).
- No language class changes will be accepted after 9/27.
Trial Class:
Know a family interested in PCLS?
- Please direct them to pcls.org for registration information.
- All trial students must sign up in advance before attending.

Culture Class Changes:

Class Waivers:
Students enrolled in the following classes are required to sign a waiver:
- Taekwondo
- YoYo
- Chinese Folk Dance
- Basketball
A separate email with the electronic waiver form will be sent. Please complete it promptly upon receipt.
Adult Activities:
The following activities are available for adults:

- Basketball
- Badminton
- Zumba
- Chinese calligraphy: Demonstration on 9/20 at 3:10 PM at Cafeteria
- Taiwanese (New!) 4:20 – 5 PM.
Fees:
- Annual facility fee: $100 for PCLS parents / $150 for non-parents.
- Additional instructor or material fees may apply.

PTA Update
Parent Volunteers Needed:
Parent participation is an important part of PCLS. If you have not yet signed up for your required parent duties, please do so.
Parent Duty Deposit Refund:
To receive your parent duty deposit refund:
- Complete the required numbers of parent duties.
- Sign in at each event/duty to ensure your participation is recorded.
- If your assigned event is canceled or rescheduled, please sign up for another duty or the new date/time.
