This year, PCLS is hosting a series of Taiwan-themed events to help students explore Taiwan more deeply. Kicking things off is our Taiwan Literature Showcase, followed by the drawing contest at the end of October, a puzzle competition in November, and more activities next semester. Stay tuned!

Taiwan Literature Showcase

Time:October 18, 2:30–5:00 PM
Location:PDS Cafeteria

The Taiwan Literature Booth from the 2026 Brooklyn Book Festival comes to PCLS! Browse picture books, YA titles, graphic novels, fiction, Taiwanese American writing, and classics.

Our theme, “Slow-cooked,” imagines Taiwanese literature as a dish simmered over time, where different cultures, communities, and languages meet and blend into rich, distinctive flavors. With food as our thread, the books explore family memory, identity, migration, island ecology, and the pursuit of democracy and freedom.

Whether you’re looking for Chinese reading for your child or a new way into Taiwanese literature, come browse and discover!
