Hope you have a great week and are ready for the Taiwan Culture Expo (文化展演) held this Sunday. The students, TAs, and teachers of first class group (PreK, CLS1, CLS5, T6), please report to cafeteria before 2:30 pm. Other classes will go to classroom normally.
PCLS students will visit this event in group. Parents of young students: we encourage you to go with their classes. Schedule follows:
- 2:30-4:10pm @ Cafeteria. Class Schedule (20 mins interval) – T10 will not participate
2:50 ~ 3:10: CSL3, T5, CSL2, CSL6
3:30 ~ 3:50: T3, T7, CSL4, CSL7
3:50 ~ 4:10: T4, T8, T9, CSL8 & 9
3:10 ~ 3:30: T1, K, T2
2:30 ~ 2:50: PreK, CSL1, CSL5, T6 - 4:10-4:40pm @ Gymeteria: Lion dance demo. This is for T8, T9 and CSL 8&9 students who will perform lion dance at CNY this year.

The speech contests are 11/24 (Group 5-8: CSL6-8, T3-10) and 12/8 (Group 1-4: CSL1-5, Pre-K-T2) at 1 PM. Please see the class teacher to register your child for the speech contest by 11/10 (Group I) and 11/24 (Group II). Details will follow shortly.
Messages from the Culture Director
PCLS will host its annual Taiwan Culture Expo this Sunday from 2:30pm-5:00pm. Three Taiwanese culture experts will be demonstrating lion dance (舞獅), calligraphy (書法及創意藏頭詩), paper-cutting (剪紙), portrait silhouette (人像剪影), wood painting (木書畫), and environmentally friendly tree art (各式環保樹藝). There will be some interesting products for sale. Stop by and enjoy!
Culture class location change-
- TaeKwonDoclass will be moved to the main level gym this Sunday only. Will share the space with YoYo class.
- Story & Music will be moved to Room 223 from now to end of school year.
Annual drawing contest will take place on Oct 20 and 27 from 1pm to 2:25 pm. The theme this year is “Year of the Rat”. Please arrive at 1pm to check-in. Students should bring their own drawing tools, but sketch paper will be provided. Please click this link to register your child(ren). Registration deadline is Thursday 10/17. No onsite registration will be accepted. If a contestant is done with drawing on 10/20, he/she doesn’t need to come on 10/27.
