We are continuing our mask mandate indoors since we have families coming from different parts of NJ and PA and most of the classrooms in Beth Chaim are not big enough to maintain social distance. Individuals who test positive for COVID-19, after remaining in isolation for at least 5 full days after the onset of symptoms, may return to school if they are fever-free (without the use of fever-reducing medication) and their symptoms are resolving. We will also continue the temperature check at the front entrance as a preventive measure. Additionally, I’d like to call your attention to the following:

Please ask your child(ren) to keep the classrooms and restrooms clean. Do not touch anything that does not belong to PCLS. Do not smear anything on the walls. 請學生隨時保持教室和洗手間整潔， 不要隨便動Beth Chaim 的物品, 不要在牆上塗抹任何東西

Culture Class Open House
The culture class open house will take place on 4/24/2022. This is a great opportunity for students to try a different culture class and the experience might help them in deciding what they would like to take during the 2022-2023 school year. Please sign up using this Google form by 04/08/2022.
New culture class! – Lion Dance 舞獅
PCLS is delighted to announce that in the 2022-2023 school year, we will be offering a Lion Dance class, taught by one of our own PCLS parents!! The class will start with physical conditioning to warm up and build strength & stamina, then students will have the opportunity to learn about the culture aspects and moves of lion dance. If you are interested, be sure to sign up for it in the Culture Open House registration Google Form.
We would like to encourage parents to join too – it will be a great chance to exercise and have fun with your kids! Priority for registration in the 2022-2023 school year will be given to the students. If there are additional spaces left, parents are welcome to join the class, either as one of the dancers, or as volunteer helpers.
Fun Day 2022 – Mark your calendar!
Fun Day will return this year on 5/22/2022 at Rosedale Park. To assist us with planning, a Google Form will be released in April to gauge the size of attendance. Mark your calendar, come out and have fun with other PCLS families!
ANJCS Chinese Calligraphy Contest
The ANJCS Chinese Calligraphy Contest will take place at 1:30PM on Sunday 4/24/2022 in Bergen Chinese School (Tenafly High School, 19 Columbus Drive, Tenafly, NJ 07670). Awakening is the final production of the late choreographer Nai-Ni Chen before her untimely passing in December 2021. The program is Nai-Ni Chen’s observation and reaction the all the events that has happened around her: The division of this society, the quest for social equity, the beauty and trauma of the isolation and her hope for unity are all embodied in this expansive production. Nai-Ni Chen’s unique choreographic style crosses many boundaries as she brings unique elements of Chinese culture into the Contemporary dance world.
